These days you find a lot of marketers online that have actually been able to quit their day jobs because of the great world of blogging. Bloggers that actually are able to make a full time income online are ones that are entrepreneurs and opinionated in any subject. Quitting their day jobs is a definite huge move on their part especially when you become your own boss. If you feel like you would like to try and make some income with blogging before you quit your day job, there are a few things you need to know first before you move forward.

First of all most people are utterly clueless when it comes to generating income from their blogs. A strategy is needed to know what to write about, how to set up advertising, affiliate commissions, product sales, donations, etc.

Try to put your goals down in writing perhaps something like this week I want to put 3000 words of quality content on my blog or webpage, small steps at first always pushing yourself a little bit more .The beauty of a goals list is that if you forget or get side tracked you can always go back to your notes. It’s important to start out knowing what you will be writing about, find your niche and then write quality quality quality content before you think of anything else, why? well if you stumbled upon this site in your search on how to set up a money making blog and all you found were a few sentences copied in with some pictures and adds, you would likely leave just as fast as you came in.(hopefully this isn't the case now) but it's more probable that if you can give people a wealth of quality info on the subject they're looking for, they are bound to give you a good review or like you and tell there friends who will tell there friends.

1. Choose a Niche Topic

There are many ways on going about choosing a topic for your blog to focus on. The best thing you can do when you make your first blog is to choose a niche that you are familiar with and have a lot to say about. Another way you can go about choosing a topic is by looking around at what people are really tending to search for. Like for example, there are always people trying to find ways on how to lose weight. You just have to find which subject's people will search for day and night and then create content that people want to read. In depth interesting articles with your perspective are what people want, not a 300 word summary of a subject that's been beaten to death and then littered with useless ads. When you focus on providing real value instead of churning out disposable content, your readers will notice.  And they’ll refer others to your site. Sure it’s hard work to create it, but in the long run it generates lots of long-term referral traffic, each time you write, focus on creating the best content you can.  You'll get better as you go along, but always do your best. Always try and make the content as original as possible, it’s hard to compete with original information that comes from you.

2. Traffic Generation

You can set up the nicest blog on a certain subject and have no one visit it unless you know how. There is no way in the world that it will make money though unless you start driving traffic towards it. The most important thing you need to monetize your blog is traffic. Why is traffic so important?  Because for most methods of online income generation, your income is a function of traffic. If you can generate serious traffic, it’s really hard to fail, More visitors means more ad clicks, more product sales, more affiliate sales, more donations.

Building traffic could take a little while depending on how much work you put into it. There are many ways of getting traffic for free. Some of the ways that I use are with articles, social bookmarking sites, clan’s blog carnivals, forums, Email, blog publishing software, classified ads, press releases and forums. As you can see there are many ways of getting traffic. You just have to test out these for yourself and see which one works for you best you might find as I do that a selection of these will work best.

When building your blog for the first time forgets monetizing your site for the first several months. Just focus on traffic building, this way you’re really getting at the throat of the money animal

3. Update and Repeat

Once you have figured out how to set up a blog and drive traffic to it, you should definitely multiply your work. When you see the first dollar in your account, you won't even believe how much relief you will feel. You will then get the feeling that you have accomplished something and that this blogging business really does work. Patience is required though, update your blog on a regular basis and have blogs covering a wide variety of subjects. Don’t spread to thin though, only enough for you to handle and give enough time to. With time you will know exactly which method will work for you and you will begin to want to make more blogs to make more money.

These 3 steps are very important to follow if you want to make money from blogging. These are very crucial and can either make or break your business.

Before Taking the Plunge check for Rocks
Make up your mind before you seriously consider starting down this path.  If you want to succeed, you must not only be determined but savvy and intelligent. Why intelligent? I mean it’s not that hard. Starting a blog is easy; managing your blog to benefit mankind and earn you money takes intelligence.

Keeping up with the many technologies and updates on the web can be really confusing, but this will be when your ability to know what works for you and what doesn't comes into play. This can only be realized if you understand your environment. You don’t need to be a genius or a programmer though, but you do need a decent functional understanding of a variety of web technologies. What technologies are “key” will depend on the nature of your blog and your means of monetization. A lack of understanding is a major cause of failure in the realm of online income generation.  For example, if you’re clueless about search engine optimization you'll end up getting no where compared to someone who might have a greater understanding of these things. So i hope this helped?i'll be updating this blog on a regular basis so please feel free to check back,Also like me if you feel the need.
Happy Blogging
